Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Ashton Richardson is a veterinary student at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He also holds a masters degree in International Development from the University of Sheffield. His interest in public policy stems from a research background in agrarian reform in the Global South. As a veterinarian and policy practitioner, Ashton aspires to look for strategies to mitigate poverty and economic stagnation that are grounded in the lived experiences of policy end-users. Ashton has worked on policy development for both the Texas Veterinary Medicine Association as well as the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medicine Association.
