Toby McCarroll is a British-Bahamian born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas. He graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History summa cum laude from American University, Washington, D.C. He also holds a Master of Studies (MSt) in Modern British History from Magdalen College, Oxford. Prior to returning to academia, Toby worked as a Programme Director for the Center for Global Enterprise, a non-profit business management and research think-tank in Washington, D.C. During his time in this role, Toby was responsible for co-ordinating various projects that researched best business practices in cyber security, supply chains, entrepreneurship and education.


Toby is interested in the way our past influences modern day British political institutions. He is particularly intrigued by the historical connections between the British government and the Commonwealth.
