Dr Sarah Steele

Sarah’s research sits at the interface of Public Policy, Sociology, Law, Criminology, and Public Health. It explores how we affect social change around issues that impact upon people's wellbeing in contemporary society. Her research is concerned with policy responses to public health issues faced by migrant communities. She explores how the NHS in particular responds to cross-border issues, including human trafficking, the trade in body products and organs, human milk sale online, and the growing use of social media by health and other professionals.

Sarah is the Deputy Director of the Intellectual Forum, Jesus College, which is aimed at covering the widest range of academic interests. Having held posts at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Oxford, amongst other institutions in the UK, USA and Australia, Sarah is an experienced lecturer and researcher specialising in policy and public health analysis, as well as legal, qualitative, and ethnographic research.
