Sophie Rosenberg is College Lecturer and Director of Studies in Politics and International Relations at Murray Edwards College. She recently defended her PhD in International Relations as a Gates Cambridge Scholar, under the supervision of Professor Marc Weller. She is interested in the relationship between politics and human rights, international organisations, conflict resolution, and the backlash against human rights. Her doctorate focused on the political strategies around the pursuit of accountability for crimes under international law during internal conflicts and peace processes. She received her MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy (awarded with Distinction) from the University of Oxford. Before her PhD, she worked at Amnesty International (International Secretariat) and at the International Criminal Court.
