Biography

Prior to starting my MPP studies I held various roles in the Canadian federal government. Over several years I served as a policy advisor at the Liberal Research Bureau, a senior policy advisor to a cabinet Minister, and as senior policy advisor to the governing Liberal Caucus of Canada.

In addition to this, I was a member of two national election campaign headquarter teams to support Liberal Party of Canada leader and Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau in 2019 and 2021. In both campaigns I was heavily involved in researching the national policy platforms including playing a key role in the development and drafting of the 2021 platform. During the 2021 campaign I was a policy advisor on the national policy team, advising candidates, and the Leader, Justin Trudeau on policy files.

Research

I have a keen interest in the economic and behavioural impacts of public policies. I am also interested in exploring a number of specific policy issues and areas including health care with a focus on mental health, closing health and economic gaps between Indigenous peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, problematic substance use, economic growth in rural and remote regions, and economic and labour transitions in regions with significant non-renewable resource sectors.
