Dr. Megha Bhargava is a Tax Administrator with the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and holds key portfolios in domestic and international taxation and investigation of economic crimes. She has led the investigation of trans-national tax evasion crimes through Direct Tax Avoidance Agreements and Tax Information Exchange Agreements with Singapore, UAE, UK, Swiss Federation, Hog Kong, Mauritius, Netherlands etc. Working in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, she is spearheading the implementation of domestic tax laws in conjunction with UN and OECD Model Tax Conventions and Bilateral Tax Treaties, promoting tax equity & fairness and resolving international tax conflicts.

She has earlier worked in the Ministry of Defence, Government of India as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) responsible for the civic administration of the Cantonment Towns in India.

She is also a qualified dental surgeon and in that capacity has ensured Universal Health Coverage to marginalized communities.

As the Co- Founder of NGO ‘Samarpann’, she has been helping to facilitate equitable access to Inclusive Education, Comprehensive Healthcare and Livelihood generation opportunities for rural and tribal communities across various parts of India. She has led the conceptualization and implementation of Tailored School Health Programs, Menstrual Hygiene Model and WASH programs across 61 govt tribal schools in four states of India touching the lives of 12,000 children. She has conceptualized a ‘Livelihood Support Strategy’ in association with the Government for rural women, farmers, artisans by employing strategies like Capacity Building, Technical Support & establishing market linkages.
