Where are we located?
Our offices are in the Alison Richard Building, 7 West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DP which is located on the Sidgwick Site (link to University Map).
How are you traveling?
We can be reached in ten minutes on foot from the centre of town (King's Parade). Nearby landmarks are the University Library and the 'Backs', which are the gardens and parks running along the Cam at the back of the colleges.
The Universal (U2) Bus stops on West Road right in front of the Alison Richard Building. The U2 runs from Girton Corner/Eddington to Cambridge Biomedical Campus vi's West Cambridge, the city centre and the railway station.
Trains run regularly to Cambridge from both London King’s Cross and London Liverpool Street. If you are coming from the North, it is advisable to change at Peterborough. West Road is a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from the railway station or approximately 20 minutes on the U2 bus.
For those wishing to cycle, there is a large covered bike shed alongside the Alison Richard Building, in addition to the numerous bike racks elsewhere on the Sidgwick Site.

- From Junction 12 of the M11
- Drive for approximately 1.5 miles into Cambridge (Barton Road)
- Turn left into Grange Road
- Turn 3rd right opposite the Rugby Club (West Road)
- The Alison Richard Building is located midway along West Road, on the right hand side
Parking Information for the Sidgwick Site:
We do not have dedicated parking for patrons, however, if you are a speaker at a seminar or are visiting by invitation, a parking permit is available on request.
- On-Site Parking: No public parking. Access is restricted to valid permit holders.
- Disabled Access: There are 3 to 6 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- Metered Street Parking: Limited, paid, 4-hour max, available on Sidgwick Avenue, West Road, and Queen’s Road.
- Free On-Street Parking: Nearby on Herschel Road, Sylvester Road, and Cranmer Road (roughly 10-15 minute walk).
- Park & Ride: The nearest option is the Madingley Road Park & Ride (approx. 35-min walk or 18-min bus ride).
