Fundraising and Donations

Donations are an important source of support for the University’s activities, but to ensure we are only accepting from sources and for purposes acceptable to the University and Department, we have created a process to ensure sufficient due diligence is undertaken.

Steps for all donations (whether from a new or existing donor):

  1. Inform the HOD of your intention of pursue a donation
  2. Complete the Donations questionnaire with the assistance of Development and Alumni Relations (CUDAR) 
  3. Submit to CUDAR for approval
  4. Once approved by CUDAR, submit to POLIS Business Operations Manager (BOM), Helen Reynolds BOM@polis.cam.ac.uk
  5. The application will be discussed at POLIS Executive Committee for approval by the POLIS Head of Department (HoD)

 Approval will be subject to the HoD's approval of the donation agreement. Committee on Benefactions and External Legal Affairs (CBELA) and CUDAR will do the necessary checks with refereed cases.
