Communication, Technology, and Politics - Dr Sharath Srinivasan

The disruptive effects of digital technologies for politics are incontrovertible, yet they arise out of a longer history of the relationship between communication technology and politics. From the invention of writing and the printing press to transformations by television and social media, political change and communication technology are deeply entwined. Taking an interdisciplinary and historicised approach to this relationship, the module enquires into authority, power and political contestation in a digital age.
