POLIS Alumnus, Associate Professor Dr Puli Fuwongcharoen was recently appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr Fuwongcharoen achieved both his PhD in Politics and International Studies and his MPhil in Politics here at Cambridge. Of his time at Cambridge, he says,
“Even though it has been almost a decade now, I still cherish every moment at POLIS. Looking back, I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to go to POLIS as a student. My time there shaped not just the way I see the world, but also my perception and understanding of myself. There were tough times, of course, especially during the very final stages of my thesis writing, but in the end, POLIS, as well as Cambridge, helped me grow up as a person.”
Dr Fuwongcharoen also recently finished a manuscript on the history of the first general election in Thailand. It is expected to come out by the middle of this year (in Thai).
